Answers to much asked questions https://www.evolutionrecords.net/news/1311 Fri, 09 Sep 2011 00:00:00 +0000
Hi Guys

I'm repeatedly being asked the same questions so I will post them here. If you don't read through my posts and ask the same question, I'm sorry for not replying:

1 - Back Cat - I have an EXTENSIVE back catalogue to be transferred from DAT ( Digital Audio Tape) to WAV / MP3 format. This will take a long time (20 years of music). If you are looking for something and it isn't online for sale, IT WILL BE IN TIME. Albums, singles, everything. Please bear with me.

2 - Remixes - Please don't send any unrequested remixes. Ev100 was a special release for remixes. Also - do not ask me for remix parts / packs / stems. Sorry, I can't provide you with these.

3 - Track submissions - you are more than welcome but please send me a soundcloud link, DON'T inbox me, my spam filter will delete it http://soundcloud.com/evolutionrecords

4 - Vinyl - I've been asked if tracks will be released on vinyl. I'm only going to do it if demand is high enough. I would love nothing more than to release everything on vinyl but the download culture has taken over, vinyl stockists are disappearing.

I hope you appreciate where I'm coming from. Thanks for your support in this new Era of Evolution Music.

Scott Brown remixing Death Metal https://www.evolutionrecords.net/news/1296 Thu, 01 Sep 2011 00:00:00 +0000
Yes people.... You read it correctly.

I'm currently remixing one of the World's top Death Metal acts "Morbid Angel's" 'I am morbid' track from their current top-selling album 'Illud Divinum Insanus'.

Expect nothing but insane hard 180bpm death metal hardcore.

Links and news to follow.

EV100 PART FOUR NEWS https://www.evolutionrecords.net/news/1260 Wed, 10 Aug 2011 00:00:00 +0000
Thanks to everyone who has supported the previous installments of ev100, I'm most grateful for your encouragement.

Before I start I want to mention that this EP includes a remix of 'Fly with you' by Mikey 'Nu Foundation' O'Brien. Mikey unfortunately died in March this year, something which took many of us by surprise. Mikey had previously done a few mixes for my labels although this mix was never released.

I've been talking with Mikey's family and friends who are happy for this track to be released and I'm proud that I can include it on our 100th release. Any profits from this remix will go towards his family. Mikey, you will be sadly missed.

It's taken a long time for us to reach this landmark release and I hope there's something on there for everyone.

1 : Scott Brown - All About Elysium (Al Storm Remix)
2 : Scott Brown - Don't you worry (Joey Riot & Kurt Remix)
3 : Scott Brown - Rock you Softly (SPIT Remix)
4 : Scott Brown - Now is the time (Al Storm & Slipmatt's Rave Breaks Mix)
5 : Scott Brown - Fly with you (Nu Foundation Remix)

Official release date - 12th September 2011

Since putting the new site together, we've noticed some things that do and don't work the way we like, and have been tweaking the little things as we go along.

One of the biggest things we've noticed is that the releases are 'bunched' together making it cumbersome and confusing to go through. Due to the huge size of the back catalogue, we're working on a way to make it much easier for you to browse and listen.

I spoke to the designers a couple of weeks ago who agree and we'll be making some more changes in the near future.

As ever, feedback is welcome on Facebook or using @djscottbrown and #evolutionrecords on Twitter.

Update on Back Catalogue https://www.evolutionrecords.net/news/1130 Mon, 30 May 2011 00:00:00 +0000
I've been asked a lot recently about the back catalogue and when it will be uploaded.

People are getting excited which is great as I'm also looking forward to uploading everything. There are a few things to bear in mind though...

I've been uploading many tracks from the past 10 years to the server, which is happening as I write this. Due to technology and many tracks from the past decade already being recorded in WAV format, they are ready to upload. It is a VERY SLOW process, so please bear with me. I'm going as fast as the net allows me. Tracks WILL appear in time. Those of you who don't know, uploading is MUCH slower than downloading.

The Early Mp3's are going to take longer...

I have 20 years of DAT tapes to go through, possibly 200-300 hours, somewhere between 7-14 days of solid music which needs to be organised. Many of these tracks were recorded at 48Khz, not compatible with CD standards. They will all have to be played in manually to the computer, edited and uploaded. It took me 20 years to write the music so please bear in mind the back catalogue WON'T be uploaded in a week, though I'm sure it won't take another 20 years either :-)

My main objective at the moment is to get new music moving again and work through the back catalogue as and when.

Thanks for your support!

Missing Forum?! https://www.evolutionrecords.net/news/1091 Wed, 11 May 2011 00:00:00 +0000
As you may have noticed, a few things are missing from the new site.

We wanted to make it more streamlined, quicker to load, and easier on the eye. Instead of the forum, a Twitter feed has been added to the page with the latest news. We felt that with the increased use of Facebook / Twitter and so on, forums in general are being used much less frequently.

Any comments are welcome via Twitter using the #evolutionrecords Hashtag.

The back catalogue has been removed as it will ultimately be replaced with the Mp3 / Wav back catalogue.

Photos WILL be updated, baby steps at the moment!

Thanks

Launch of new Evolution site! https://www.evolutionrecords.net/news/806 Mon, 09 May 2011 00:00:00 +0000
In conjunction with Labelworx, we've finally launched the new web site with worldwide distribution, new artwork, new music, new style for the new generation.

As well as featuring on this site, the music will feature on all major MP3 stores. Make sure you check back regularly for more info.

Due to popular demand, the back catalogue will be made available over time, please note that this WILL take a while due to our extensive range. Evolution, Twisted Vinyl, Screwdriver and all other associated labels will be included.

NEW labels will also be featured on the site, catering for different styles, news of which will follow.

We've tried to make the page as crisp and concise as possible, making it friendly on various formats, from PC's, Macs to Tablets and Mobile Phones. A new iPhone App is currently under development.

Some things need updated such as the photo section. We've spent so much time developing the site, bug fixing and so on, other things have had to take 2nd place.

We like the new, crisp feel and hope you do too. And finally, main links to this page are as follows:
